5 members of a family die from electrocution in Pangasinan

Five people, including a couple and their child, died from electrocution in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, police said Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Ariel Colarco, his wife Rochel and child, Grade 3 pupil Gianne Colarco; Michael Mendoza and Henry Mendoza, residents of Barangay Bacundao, West Malasiqui.

Chief Inspector Ariel Caballero, deputy chief of the Malasiqui police, said Ariel and his wife were setting up a clothesline in their house when the tip of the wire touched an electrical outlet.

Caballero said the three other victims might have touched the couple while they were still holding the live wire.

The victims were already dead when found by policemen in their home. —ALG, GMA News
