Singing 'Oplan Tokhang' held in Bulacan

Paombong police officers implemented "Oplan Tokhang" or anti-illegal drugs campaign  through song, according to a report of GMA News' Marisol Abduraman on "24 Oras."

The police officers, sang "Tatlong Adik" to the tune of the popular "Tatlong Bibe" song, while onboard a motorized boat to visit an island-barangay and call on illegal drug users and pushers to surrender.

While roaming Barangay Binacod, police officers knocked on the house of one of the persons named in a drug watchlist.

"Kasama po siya sa BADAC (Barangay Anti Drug Abuse Councils) watchlist namin sa barangay," said C/Insp. Leopoldo Estorque Jr., Paombong Police chief.

The drug suspect, however, didn't surrender to the police but promised to report to their headquarters the next day.

Aside from the anti-illegal drugs campaign, the officials are also giving away leaflets contianing tips to protect themselves from criminals.

"Malayo kasi 'to, kailangan pang magbangka...para alam nila ang gagawin para makaiwas sa krimen," Estorque said.

The campaign was well received by the residents and Binacod Barangay Chairman Rita Enriquez.

"Yun po ay isang magandang kampanya para po sila ay may matutunan, magkaroon ng kaalaman," she said. — John Ted Cordero/BAP, GMA News
