2 killed, 5 arrested in Bulacan drug bust

 

Police operatives killed two suspected drug pushers in a firefight and nabbed five others during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Authorities identified one of the slain suspects as Teodoro Fortes, eight on the list of Top 10 drug personalities in the area, Unang Balita reported Thursday.

Police said that Fortes had escaped two anti-drug operations until he was cornered Wednesday noon in the house of a certain Fernando Rodrigo, who was also killed during the firefight.

Rodrigo’s wife admitted that her husband was a user but not a pusher, and that he was already on handcuff during the incident.

"Nakaposas na po yung mister ko. Dinampot nila, pinasok na nila sa van. Tapos bigla nilang ibinalik dito sa bahay, patay," Alona Rodrigo claimed.

San Jose del Monte police chief P/Supt. Wilson Magpali denied Alona's allegations.

"It's a legitimate police operation. Nagkaroon ng putukan sa pagitan ng ating operatiba," Magpali said.

Recovered from Rodrigo's house were drug paraphernalia, digital weighing scale, foil, marked money, and several sachets of "shabu.”

Charges will be filed against the five arrested alleged drug pushers for violation the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. —Erwin S. Colcol/LBG, GMA News
