Suspected Kerwin Espinosa hit man, wife killed in Tacloban City attack

A suspected hit man of self-confessed illegal drugs distributor Kerwin Espinosa died in a gun attack that also killed the victim's wife on Friday morning.

In a report on "Unang Balita," the victims were identified as Jesus and Sunshine Tulin, who were attacked inside their house in Tacloban City in Eastern Visayas.

According to the report, a witness claimed seeing six armed suspects enter the couple's house and said that he did not know what happened next as one of the suspects, at gunpoint, ordered him to drop face down to the ground.

"Then gunshots rang," the witness was quoted as saying.

The slain hit man had been slapped with murder case, but the complainant withdrew allegedly after getting death threats, the report added.

At a Senate hearing in 2016 on the death in police custody of his father Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa, Kerwin confessed that he used to be a drug distributor conspiring with some police officials. —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA News
