Road rage suspect with No. 8 plate posts bail

The suspect in the road rage incident involving a vehicle bearing a license plate reserved for members of the House of Representatives has gone out of detention after posting bail.

Jojo Valerio, who faces charges for serious physical injury, grave threats, usurpation of authority and violation of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, posted P4,000 in bail at 2:42 p.m. on Thursday.

Angeles City, Pampanga police director Senior Superintendent Enrico Vargas, confirmed the development to GMA News Online. He said Valerio was detained at Police Station 4 before posting bail.

Valerio was arrested at a Tarlac City bar where his band was purportedly scheduled to perform on Tuesday night.

He figured in an apparent road rage incident in Balibago, Angeles over the weekend, where he was caught on CCTV video hitting a motorist who remained inside his car.

His SUV had a No. 8 license plate. But he has reportedly denied relation to the Lazatin clan of Pampanga. Carmelo Lazatin II represents the first district of the province at the House of Representatives. — Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/RSJ, GMA News
