1 killed, 2 missing as Oriental Mindoro places 8 areas under state of calamity

One person has been reported killed in Oriental Mindoro due to the effects of Tropical Depression Usman as the provincial government placed eight municipalities under a state of calamity, a report by Glen Juego on SuperRadyo DZBB said Monday.

According to the report, Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso Umali said that a state of calamity has been declared in Naujan, Baco, Calapan City, Socorro, Pinamalayan, Pola, Bongabong, and Bansud.

The report added that based on the tally of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, a person has been reported dead while two are still missing.

The provinces of Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, and Camarines Norte earlier declared a state of calamity due to Usman. The municipality of Polangui in Albay has also been placed under state of calamity.
