The military fired mortars in the mountainous areas of Patikul, believed to be a stronghold of the ASG.
Earlier, authorities pointed the Abu Sayyaf Group as perpetrators of the attack in Jolo church that killed 22 people and wounded around 100 people last week.
To prevent other more attacks in the region, the military and police have been imposing strict security measures in churches and mosques. —Joviland Rita/NB, GMA News
