Factions of Abu Sayyaf, BIFF hinted support for BOL —Murad

MILF chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim said he would be willing to dialogue with factions of the Abu Sayyaf Group and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters to convince them to support the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

In an interview with Rowena Salvacion on Super Radyo dzBB, Murad said certain factions of the terrorist groups had expressed support for the BOL and the more powerful Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao that will be in place when the law is ratified in the plebicsite.

"Despite Meron nang mga factions sa kanila nagpahayag ng suporta sa BOL, ganun din yung isang panbg grupo dito ang BIFF," Murad said on Super Radyo dzBB.

"Sa panig namin, ang solution dito sa maliliit na grupo is not only through the security forces. Kailangan i-open ang dialogue sa kanila," he added.

Murad is expected to head the Bangsamoro Transition Commission when the Bangsamoro Organic Law is ratified by majority of areas included in the law.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines initially blamed a faction of the ASG for the twin blasts that hit the Jolo cathedral last Sunday. —NB, GMA News
