Gov't troops search for 10-yr-old daughter of Indonesian suicide bombers in Jolo, Sulu

Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año on Thursday bared that the suicide bombers who launched the attack at a cathedral in Jolo, Sulu brought their 10-year-old daughter to the country.

"Meron din 'yang anak na 10-year-old na hinahanap natin, iniwan dito sa mga symphatizers, supporters ng Abu Sayyaf," Año told reporters in an ambush interview during the National Federalism Summit in Manila.

"Three days before the bombing, in-entrust nila 'yung bata dun sa isang supporter ng Abu Sayyaf," he added.

Further, he said that the male suicide bomber whose alias was Abu Juda was already staying in the Philippines for a year before the attack in Jolo, while the woman just arrived last December.

He said that the suspected remains of the couple--including two pairs of feet--have been retrieved from the burial ground for examination.

The twin explosions at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu claimed at least 23 lives and wounded over 90 others.

The bloodshed was attributed to the Abu Sayyaf Group. Five suspects already surrendered to authorities and are facing murder and frustrated murder cases before the court.

Fourteen others, on the other hand, remain at large, including Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan who is the alleged mastermind of the bombing attack and believed to be the new emir of ISIS in the country. — MDM, GMA News
