AFP reports no injuries in 2nd round of BOL plebiscite

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Saturday reported no casualties or injuries in the second round of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite held on February 6.

Dahil kakaunti lang kasi 'yung involved noong second plebiscite natin," AFP public affairs chief Noel Detoyato said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) earlier in the week said the plebiscite on the inclusion of additional areas in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) yielded a low voter turnout.

Only around 60 percent of the expected number of voters took part in the February 6 plebiscite.

Detoyato said AFP chief of staff Benjamin Madrigal, Jr. was satisfied with the implementation of security by the Eastern Mindanao Command in Davao. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA News
