Clark International Airport to be fully operational on Wednesday afternoon

The Clark International Airport will be fully operational on Wednesday afternoon after it was temporarily closed since Monday night due to a magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Luzon.

Clark International Airport Corporation president Jaime Melo said the airport will resume full operations at 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report of Isa Avendaño-Umali on Dobol sa News TV.

Melo confirmed that the entire facilities of the airport are safe for operation.

After a 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Zambales on Monday, the airport was temporarily closed to undergo inspection and assessment.

Despite the scheduled resumption of operations, no domestic flights were scheduled on Wednesday at the Clark International Airport.

Some passengers were stranded at the airport early morning after their flights were canceled. Due to this, Melo advised passengers to check with airline companies before going to the airport if their flights have been canceled.

According to Melo, only four flights have been confirmed to use the airport on Wednesday. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
