Michael Keon gets mayoral seat in Laoag

Last-minute candidate Michael Marcos Keon was proclaimed as the mayor of Ilocos Norte's capital Laoag City.

According to a report in GMA News TV's Quick Response Team on Tuesday, Keon defeated the incumbent city mayor Chevylle Fariñas.

Keon, former governor of the province, is a relative of Ilocos Norte governor-elect Matthew Marcos-Manotoc.  

He was supposed to run for councilor, but at the last minute, substituted for another candidate to run instead for mayor.—Dona Magsino/LDF, GMA News
