Cops raid marijuana farm in Cebu, arrest suspect


Authorities raided a marijuana plantation with an estimated P4 million worth of cannabis in Cebu City on Saturday, Isa Avendaño-Umali reported on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

Police raided the marijuana farm at about  5 a.m. last Saturday, and found 10, 000 fully grown marijuana plants, said Colonel Manuel Javier Abrugena, Cebu Provincial Police Office’s acting director.

The suspect behind the cannabis cultivation was identified as Elmer Cantutay Jr. who lives near the plantation in Sitio Himatongan, Barangay Gen. Climaco in Toledo City.

Authorities uprooted and destroyed the marijuana plants, of which some were burned and a part were kept to be used as evidence against the suspect.

Cantutay is facing charges for the violation of the Section 12 Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA News
