Magnitude-5.3 earthquake jolts Cotabato

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck eight kilometers southwest of  Makilala, Cotabato at 8:37 p.m.-Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin, and had a 5 kilometer depth of focus.

The tremor was felt at Intensity IV in Kidapawan City.
