One-year-old boy accidentally scooped up by payloader, dies

A toddler died after he was scooped up by a payloader at a construction site in La Paz, Iloilo, according to a report on Unang Balita.

One-year-old "Nonoy" was playing in the sand at the construction site while a payloader operator was working.

A witness related that when he saw the boy, he called the attention of the operator, who immediately stopped working.

The operator thought that he hit the boy. It was the witness who informed him that the child was inside the payloader's bucket.

The boy's mother, it was reported, was warned and advised to watch her child as the construction work was ongoing near their home.

The boy's father said the mother was busy working in the kitchen but was aware that Nonoy was just beside her.

She did not notice Nonoy leave her side. When she could not find Nonoy, she ran out of the house looking for him.

The boy suffered from bruises in different parts of the body and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The family of the boy has no plans to file a case against the operator payloader. The operator, meanwhile, offered to pay for the funeral expenses. — BAP, GMA News
