Bones of suspected drug dealers discovered in Cavite

The Skeletal remains of suspected drug dealers were found by police officers in Dasmariñas, Cavite in the course of an anti-illegal drugs operation.

According to Dano Tingcungco's report in GMA's 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday, the anti-narcotics officers had just arrested suspects Richard Lozanta and Sonny Toledo for their alleged drug involvement when the suspects revealed the location of the remains.

The suspects, however, denied burying the bodies in the area.

"Nanunulos lang ako na gagamitin ko sa pagsisitaw nung nakita ko ho 'yan. Nakita ko ho may puntod diyan," said one of them.

Police investigators said that the unearthed remains could possibly be those of drug dealers who failed to remit their drug money.

"More on drug-related po. 'Yun po 'yung mga hindi nakapag-remit sa kanila. 'Yun pong napagkakamalan nilang asset ng kapulisan ay pinapatay nila at binabaon somewhere dito sa lugar dito," said Police Captain Alexis Tuazon, chief of the Cavite PIO.

Authorities are still examining the recovered bones.

The suspects meanwhile face charges for possession of 10 grams of supposed shabu and P500 in marked money.

They may also face other raps in connection to the buried bodies, according to the police. — Dona Magsino/DVM, GMA News
