2 drifting, shivering Korean divers rescued off Mindoro's Verde Island

Crew members of a passing ship have rescued two shivering, distressed Korean divers in Verde Island Passage off Mindoro.

GMA News' "Unang Hirit" reported Wednesday that the two foreign divers had been floating for three  hours in rough seas after they lost their motor boat.

Cargo vessel Lady Aliza's crew spotted the two distressed divers shivering in cold waters, signaling for help and immediately undertook the rescue operation.

According to the report, the Koreans told their rescuers they have been drifting in rough waters for three hours.

They said they left from Puerto Galera on a small motor boat for a diving expedition off Verde Island. But when they surfaced from a dive, the motor boat was gone. —LBG, GMA News
