P2.4M worth of weed burned after raid on marijuana farm in Sulu


Authorities burned P2.4 million worth of weed after government agencies seized a marijuana plantation in Kalingalan Caluang in Sulu over the weekend.

Captain Felix Serapio, director of the Marine Corps Public Affairs Office, on Monday said members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA),
Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conducted the raid which also led to the arrest of a suspect, Atiulla Main.

Some 1,200 pieces of fully-grown marijuana were burned by authorities.

Aside from the recovery of the marijuana plantation, the authorities also seized two
M16A1 rifles and magazines with live ammunition.

Main is now in custody of the Kalingalan Caluang municipal police station for filing of appropriate charges. —NB, GMA News
