P5 million suspected shabu seized; 6 suspects nabbed in Cavite

About P5 million worth of suspected shabu was seized by the police at a high-end apartment in Bacoor, Cavite.

Officers also nabbed high-value target Mastura Salik alias Troy, and his right-hand man, a Chinese national named Joplex Roice Lim alias Tikoy, together with family members Waren and Saima Salik, according to a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News' Saksi on Tuesday.

Arrested earlier were their partners Jason Manalo and Sittie Ebrahim.

The suspects declined to give a statement.

According to Bacoor Chief of Police Lieutenant Colonel Vic Cabatingan, drug pushers no longer use cars. Instead, they rent high-end apartments in subdivisions to take advantage of the presence of guards.

Bacoor police suggested that subdivisions, condominiums, and apartments for rent be required to submit an updated list of their residents.

"'Yung mga homeowners association, dapat meron silang record keeping at data keeping process para alam kung sino ang nakatira sa bawat tahanan ng inyong subdivision para alam niyo kung renter 'yan [at] anong klaseng renter 'yan," Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado said.

Another drug pusher, Joshua Maurice Revillo, was arrested in Bacoor by the Cavite Police Provincial Intelligence Branch.

Revillo admitted selling hexagonal shaped tablets suspected to be ecstasy for P1,300 per tablet.

The suspect is faced with charges related to violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — Johana Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA News
