Fire hits Gaisano Mall in GenSan

A fire hit the Gaisano Mall in General Santos City on Wednesday evening after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake rocked Mindanao, according to its City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

General Santos City CDRRMO chief Bong Dacera confirmed that a fire broke out following the earthquake, according to Super Radyo's dzBB.

A video by YouScooper Art Louis showed a fire razing the mall at around 8:30 p.m.

According to reports, there was a blackout in GenSan immediately after the fire. When the electricity went back on after 30 minutes, the blaze broke out at Gaisano Mall.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Wednesday said the earthquake at around 7:37 p.m. had its epicenter 22 kilometers southeast of Makilala, Cotabato. — BAP, GMA News
