7-year-old girl found dead in Laguna with 28 stab wounds

A 7-year-old girl on Wednesday was found dead at her neighbor's house in San Pedro, Laguna with 28 stab wounds.

According to a report by Ivan Mayrina on GMA News' 24 Oras, Eleona Mychie Remoquillo was found at Heredia compound in Barangay Guyab at 4 p.m. after resident saw "red water" tickling out of their house.

The suspect is a 15-year-old boy who had moved into the area two months ago to take care of his sister's child.

The suspect denied the allegations against him.

According city social welfare officer Ma. Fatima Autor the suspect narrated that a masked man with a tattoo on his right arm went inside their house carrying the girl.  The man punched him in the stomach and placed a towel over his face that made him unconscious.

The suspect's sister said she would allow her brother to be investigated.

Some residents in the area expressed disbelief to the suspect's claim about the presence of a masked man.  They said they would have noticed if a stranger entered the area.

"Sa ngayon po wala po tayo ng ibang suspek kundi po yung ating minor offender so hinihintay lang po namin yung resulta ng crime lab," San Pedro Police Master Sergeant Lisa Ballad said.

The suspect, youngest of his siblings, was bullied that made him stop schooling, according to initial findings of social welfare officers.

—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
