Man allegedly chops woman’s head off in Misamis Oriental

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old man on the suspicion that he decapitated a woman and threw her head in a hole in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental.

The suspect was identified as Lloyd Supera Bagtong, resident of sitio Cabulogan in Barangay Casibole, according to a report by the PNP-Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10).

The headless cadaver was found in Purok 2, Barangay Punta Santiago at 5:50 a.m. without an upper garment, wearing denim pants, and with hands both tied.

According to the investigation, a witness said Bagtong was at the crime scene with a scythe tucked into his waistband and fled when residents found the body.

The responding PNP personnel, with the aid of a resident and the chairman of Barangay Casibole, went in pursuit of the suspect and located his house about three to four kilometers from the crime scene.

The police found Bagton still with the scythe at his waist. The suspect then pointed the location where he placed the head of the victim.

The policemen found the victim's head in a hole, wrapped in a bloosd-stained garment.

The suspect was brought to the Talisayan Police Station, while authorities have yet to determine the identity of the victim.

The victim's body was brought to a funeral parlor in Barangay Mintabon. — Jamil Santos/BM, GMA News
