Residents scramble for safety as strong quake rattles Mindanao anew


After over a month from a series of strong and deadly quakes that rattled Mindanao in the southern Philippines, a 6.9-magnitude temblor jolted Davao del Sur on Sunday afternoon.

In a video shared by YouScooper Jomard Sam Delos Reyes, the one holding the camera falls to the ground. Delos Reyes immediately left his dorm on the third floor of the building in Davao City.

In another video, residents of the building can be seen rushing down the stairway in a rush to evacuate the establishments.

Another video shows residents are herded outside their condominium buildings during the shaking of the ground in Davao City where Intensity V is being felt.

An emergency alarm can be heard in the background.

In Surallah, South Cotabato, a resident caught on cam a lamp hanging from the ceiling, violently swinging with the earthquake.

Intensity VII was felt Matanao and Magsaysay in Davao del Sur.

Kidapawan City; General Santos City; Bansalan in Davao del Sur; Alabel and Malapatan in Sarangani;  and Koronadal City excperienced Intensity VI.

Intensity V was felt in Tulunan and Matalam, Cotabato; Cotabato City; Davao City; Glan in Sarangani, while Intensity III was experienced in Kalilangan, Talakag, and  Dangcagan in Bukidnon.

The town of Impasug-ong in Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro City,  Dipolog City felt Intensity II.
