Two Indonesian kidnap victims rescued in Sulu

The military confirmed on Sunday they have rescued in Sulu two Indonesians who were previously abducted.

Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) chief Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana said the kidnap victims were rescued on Sunday morning in Panamao, Sulu.

The rescued kidnap victims were identified by Sobejana as Maharudin Lunani and Samion Bin Maniue.

"The rescue of the remaining 1 is ongoing," Sobejana said.

In November, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo said the military was looking for seven individuals who are believed to be held the Abu Sayyaf group.

Arevalo said the alleged kidnap victims include a Vietnamese national, three Indonesians and three Filipinos. —KG, GMA News
