Medical teams at Athletes’ Village also to undergo quarantine —DOH

The 20 medical teams tasked to take care of the people in quarantine facility Athletes’ Village in Tarlac will also undergo the same protocol, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Thursday.

DOH Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that each team has eight to ten personnel. These personnel will be put in quarantine after their duty at the Athletes’ Village.

“Ang ating medical teams, kasama na po ‘yan sa kanilang trabaho na pagkatapos noon they have to be quarantined also for 14 days,” she said in an interview on GMA News TV’s Balitanghali.

At least 458 Filipinos are staying in the quarantine facility. They arrived on Tuesday from a repatriation mission in Japan.

The group includes 445 repatriated Filipinos from 2019 novel coronavirus-hit cruise ship Diamond Princess and 13 personnel from the DOH and Department of Foreign Affairs.

According to Vergeire, the 458 remain asymptomatic, so far. — BM, GMA News
