2 PUIs die in Carmona, Cavite


A barangay in Carmona, Cavite was placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine after two suspected cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection died.

According to Susan Enriquez's report on Dobol B sa News TV on Monday, the laboratory test results of the two persons under investigation from Barangay Cabilang Baybay are still pending when they expired.

Under extreme enhanced community quarantine, tighter inspection is being implemented at checkpoints by uniformed government personnel.

The extreme enhanced community quarantine which has been in effect over the barangay since Saturday was lifted on Monday morning after one of the deceased PUIs tested negative for COVID-19.

Cavite Representative Dahlia Loyola said the local government is just waiting for the test result of the other resident who died.

Meanwhile, long queues were observed outside drug stores in Silang, Cavite. Some customers endure the long lines caused by social distancing rules as they try to stock up on their maintenance medicines amid the COVID-19 crisis.

As of Sunday night, the Philippines recorded 380 COVID-19 cases with 25 deaths. --Dona Magsino/KBK, GMA News
