Woman from Manila is Cotabato City's 2nd COVID-19 case

COTABATO CITY -- The battle to end COVID-19 infections in this city is not yet over as a person under investigation (PUI) was tested positive for the disease -- just as one has recovered and released from hospital.

According to the situation report released by the Department of Health Region-12, a 68-year-old woman was the latest patient under treatment at the isolation room  of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC).

She is Patient 599 with a travel history from Manila who arrived in the city, where she resides, on March 12.

“She is stable and undergoes strict home quarantine,” the DOH report said.

The first patient was Patient 145, a 32-year-old male who was treated after almost two weeks at CRMC. He came from Malaysia before his arrival and treatment in Cotabato City on the first week of March.

On Wednesday, the DOH confirmed 84 new infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the entire country to 636. Of this number, 38 have died. --KBK, GMA News
