Baliwag mayor, 2 other Bulacan COVID-19 patients recover

Three more coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Bulacan have recovered, including Baliwag Mayor Ferdie Estrella, the provincial government announced Sunday.

In a Facebook post, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando said all three patients had tested negative for the disease twice, a requirement set by  the World Health Organization in order for a patient to be declared recovered.

Estrella, Patient 152, announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on March 16. He recovered from the respiratory illness on March 29.

Patient 21, meanwhile, is a 58-year-old female from San Jose del Monte who tested positive on March 9 and recovered on April 6.

Patient 413, a 31-year-old female Bulacan resident, was confirmed to have COVID-19 on March 22 but recovered six days later.

“They were already discharged from St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and Makati Medical Center, respectively,” Fernandez said.

The governor added that aside from the three recoveries, 15 other patients have “clinically improved” but are still under quarantine as they wait for their test results.

Data from the Department of Health as of Sunday afternoon showed that there were 76 COVID-19 cases in Bulacan with 15 deaths and four recoveries.

Nationwide, the disease has claimed 297 lives and infected over 4,600 people. — DVM, GMA News
