3 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Bicol, total now at 38 —DOH-V


 

The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol region has recorded three new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019, all were frontliners, bringing the total number of cases in the region to 38.

One of the new cases was a 28-year-old female health worker from Legazpi City, Albay. According to DOH-Region V, her history of exposure was still being established.

The patient's onset of illness was on March 30 then she sought medication at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on April 27.

Also a frontliner, the other case was a 54-year-old male from Legazpi City, Albay who consulted with doctors last April 27. He was staying in a quarantine facility.

Another health worker, a  56-year-old female from Ligao City, Albay, also tested positive for the disease. The Albay Provincial Health Office facilitated the patient's swab on April 27. Her history of exposure was being established.

 

The DOH-Region V said fatalities in the region were four while recoveries were 26.

It reminded residents that the enhanced community quarantine is still in effect, noting that guidelines and directives must be followed.

"Staying in our homes is one of the simplest yet helpful acts which we can contribute in minimizing the spread of COVID-19 in our community," the DOH Region V said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
