COVID-19 patient who escaped from Davao City facility found

Authorities found Friday morning the female COVID-19 patient who escaped from a quarantine facility in Davao City over the weekend.

The Davao City government made the announcement but no other details were given.

In an interview on Dobol B sa News TV, Davao City police chief Colonel Kirby Kraft said they found the patient hiding near an abandoned truck in Brgy. Matina.

“Medyo malakas naman siya pero nagutom at  humingi agad ng pagkain,” he said.

He added the patient was alone when they found her with only a cloth she used as a cover and her bag.

He said they immediately turned over the woman to the Department of Health and to the facility.

Mayor Sara Duterte earlier said the patient sneaked out of the facility by jumping out of a window on Saturday.

She said the patient initially asked permission to go home, and escaped when officials did not allow her.
