P5-B worth of suspected shabu seized in Bulacan raid, 3 arrested

A Chinese national working as a "bodegero" and his two Filipina companions were arrested on Thursday after they were found with boxes containing about 756 kilograms of shabu worth more than P5 billion at a house in Marilao, Bulacan.

The Philippine National Police (PNP)-Drug Enforcement Group identified the suspects as Yuwen Cai, a Chinese national, Angela Miole Tulio and Ma. Lyn Miole Tulio.

Joint forces of the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 4, Bulacan Police Provincial Office, and the Marilao CPS conducted the operation at a house in Reley Street, Barangay Lias at 3 p.m., where 63 boxes of biscuits containing the said amount of shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) with an estimated value of P5.1 billion and P1 million buy-bust boodle money were found with the suspects.

Philippine National Police chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said they conducted a surveillance on the suspects as they were possibly involved in a drug link being traced by the PNP.

"Kapag sinasabi mong bodegero and then you entrust him more than 700 kilos of shabu he must be somebody who can be trusted, he must be somebody whom they hired and believes he can really deliver at puwede niya gawin itong negosyo, kaya niyang ipatakbo ito nang kung ano man yung trust na binibigay sa kanya ng mga nagbibigay ng mga shabu na ito sa kanila," Gamboa said.

The suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. —Jamil Santos/LDF, GMA News
