Drug suspect killed in buy-bust ops in Cavite

A drug suspect was slain in a buy-bust operation that went awry at Barangay Kaong in Silang, Cavite after he allegedly fired a gun upon noticing that he was dealing with officers.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras," alias Omlo was chased by authorities after trying to run away. Meanwhile, his accomplice, Mark Anthony Almazan alias Michael, the main target of the operation, escaped.

Police authorities said Almazan's drug group kept moving around.

"Na-operate natin 'yung isa meander nila, 'yung alias Bokni atsaka si alias Vito. From that operation napag-alaman natin na palipat-lipat ng lugar 'yung grupo," Police Lieutenant Colonel Vicente Amante said.

"At ito nga si Michael Almazan ay natagpuan natin at napag-alaman na dito siya nag tatago sa Silang, area ng Silang, Barangay Kaong," he added.

Authorities retrieved a sachet of suspected shabu worth P10,000 and a 9-mm pistol. -Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
