4-year-old boy is Batangas City’s 73rd COVID-19 case


A four-year-old boy is the latest case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Batangas City.

According to a Saturday “24 Oras News Alert,” this latest patient brought the total number of cases in the city to 73.

The city health office said the boy, who was from Barangay Sampaga, had no known exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 patient and had no history of travel.

The city health office said contact tracing was currently ongoing.

So far, five victims succumbed to the virus in the city, while 63 have recovered.

Meanwhile, in San Pascual, Batangas, a 30-year-old female health worker from Barangay Camella, Sambat also tested positive for the viral disease.

The female patient was isolated at a quarantine facility in the town, while contact tracing was being conducted by local officials.

San Pascual recorded a total of three cases of COVID-19, including two recoveries.

Across Batangas province, a total of 297 confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been reported with 30 deaths and 192 recoveries. Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
