Gamboa wants dismissal of 2 Ilocos Sur cops accused of killing teenager

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa on Monday said he has directed the Internal Affairs Service to immediately dismiss from the police service the cops allegedly involved in the killing of a teenager in Ilocos Sur.

"I actually directed IAS to finish and dismiss the policemen in 15 days...  That's the thrust I have given since I sat as officer-in-charge that we should be able to dismiss our personnel fast," Gamboa said at a press briefing.

"Starting today, I'm counting 15 days and hopefully by that time, because according to the investigators, there is a very good number of evidence that would substantially prove that indeed these two PNP personnel were involved in such crime," he added.

Police Staff Sergeants Randy Ramos and Marawi Torda have been slapped with murder complaints following the killing of a 15-year-old girl who earlier filed an acts of lasciviousness complaint against one of the cops.

The PNP has said the teenager earlier filed a complaint against Torda for alleged acts of lasciviousness while Ramos was also accused of raping the victim’s 18-year-old cousin.

The accused police officers have been placed under restrictive custody of the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office while awaiting further disposition.

An iInitial information from the Cabugao Municipal Police Station showed the two girls were arrested over a curfew violation and were allegedly drunk when the cops supposedly attacked them.
