Ambush on police mobile car in Dumaran, Palawan

The chief of Dumaran Municipal Police Station and a cop survived an ambuscade in Palawan on Sunday morning.

According to a report of Super Radyo Palawan’s Junfred Calamba on Dobol B sa News TV, Dumaran Police chief Police Captain Erwin Carandang, and driver Police Corporal Mark Russel Evangelista survived the attack pulled off while they were on a monitoring operation against wanted persons.

The two police officers emerged unhurt from the police mobile that was peppered with around 10 bullet slugs.

Dumaran’s deputy chief of police Police Lieutenant Federico Calingao said the two cops were attacked in San Vicente, Palawan at about 6:10 a.m.

The two cops were in good health condition and went to the Palawan Provincial Police Office command center to report the incident.

Based on an initial police report, the cops reported the incident to Taytay Municipal Police Station around 9:00 a.m. through a phone call.

The shooting incident happened at 6:10 a.m. in Ibangley, Barangay Abongan.

An initial police investigation revealed that the two victims were on a patrol vehicle coming from their area of responsibility going to Roxas, Palawan for an “official mission.”

Suddenly, they were fired upon by unknown assailants, targeting their patrol car, the report said.
