99 call center agents test positive for COVID-19 in Iloilo City


Ninety-nine call center agents had tested positive for COVID-19 in Iloilo City over the weekend, according to Jonathan Andal's report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

Based on data from Iloilo Health Office, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city has reached 288, including the 99 call center agents who were discovered to have COVID-19 through contact tracing after one died.

At least two Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies in the city were put on lockdown, while five barangays were put on "selective lockdown."

The same report said Sagada, Mountain Province will be temporarily closed to outsiders after it recorded its first COVID-19 case — a 29-year-old male who is asymptomatic and has no travel history outside the province.

The travel ban in Sagada will last until August 14. —KBK, GMA News
