Teacher barters plants for bond paper in Aklan

A teacher in Kalibo, Aklan barters his plants for bond paper to be able to print modules for students as the country transitions to distance learning amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

In a Ronda Probinsya report on “24 Oras,” Dennis Bontogon expressed worry over the  shortage in supplies as more than 2,000 students have enrolled at the Kalibo Pilot Elementary School.

“Ito’y hindi para sa amin, ito’y para sa ating mga kabataan kasi sila ‘yung mahalaga dito,” Bontogon said.

He said that they were fortunate to have a supplier.

“Bond paper talaga kailangan, tambak na bond paper kasi medyo marami na po ‘yung na-enroll namin,” Noemi Carino, another teacher, said.

They also have difficulty delivering modules in the area due to the muddy ground, especially during rainy weather. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
