Jolo blasts not a direct threat to Eastern Mindanao, says EastMinCom spox

The twin explosions that rocked Jolo, Sulu on Monday are not seen as a direct threat to Eastern Mindanao, the spokesman of the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) said on Tuesday.

Major Alex Mindalano assured the public that EastMinCom and its ground units will “remain vigilant and in full alert” following the blasts.

“Eastmincom Commander Lieutenant General Jose Faustino Jr. has already directed the commanders of line units to ramp up their security operations to prevent the possible spillover of the incident in different areas within Eastern Mindanao,” he said.

The Eastmincom also urged the public to immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities.
