Boat trips canceled in Calabarzon due to Quinta


Due to the threat from Tropical Storm Quinta (international name: Molave), boat trips were canceled in Calabarzon starting Saturday.

“Kanselado ang lahat ng byaheng pandagat sa mga pantalan sa rehiyon dala ng pagtataas ng Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal sa mga lalawigan ng CALABARZON dulot ng Bagyong #QuintaPH,” the Calabarzon Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) said on Sunday.

The Calabarzon RDRRMC also advised travelers to postpone their scheduled trips to avoid getting stranded in ports.

“Pinapayuhan ang mga maglalakbay na pansamantalang itigil ang pagbyahe upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng stranded sa mga pantalan. Manatiling nakatutok sa mga ulat panahon,” it added.

The Calabarzon RDRRMC said 532 families or 1,789 individuals in Guinobatan, Albay and Canaman, Camarines Sur were already preemptively evacuated.

A total of 662 individuals were stranded in the region.

The Philippine Ports Authority-Batangas meanwhile said that as of 1 a.m., 183 people were stranded in the port of  Batangas.

Sixty rolling cargoes were also stranded at the said port.

MIMAROPA

In MIMAROPA, the RDRRMC said shipping vessel trips were suspended in areas where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) have been raised, except in Palawan.

Several areas were placed under TCWS No. 2 and 1 on Sunday. —KG, GMA News
