Quinta floods parts of Camarines Sur

Several parts of Camarines Sur on Monday were submerged in flood, while some structures were destroyed due to the intense rain and wind brought by Typhoon Quinta.

According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras,” Quinta brought heavy winds and rains that resulted in toppling of trees and power lines.

A total of 25 towns lost electricity.

In Barangay Haring in Canaman, houses were submerged in waist-high floods.

Residents lamented the situation as they have been living in evacuation areas for the past weeks due to back-to-back typhoons.

“Halos hindi na kami nakakatira sa bahay namin. Lagi na lang kami nandoon sa evacuation center. Sana man lang magawan kami ng drainage para ‘pag umulan, may mapupuntahan ‘yong tubig, nandito kami,” Romeo Robas said.

Meanwhile, some residents also feared getting sick due to the flood.

“Maraming sakit tulad ng dengue tapos ‘yong leptospirosis,” Jerry Estrelles said.
