Military validating if Abu Sayyaf leader Furuji Indama killed in September clash

The military continues to validate information that Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Furuji Indama was killed following an encounter in September.

On Friday, Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Alaric delos Santos told reporters that Indama's former comrades and some soldiers saw that the local terror leader was severely hurt during a September 9 clash in RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.

"Binitbit lang nila at hindi iniwan despite of the heavy fires po ng tropa natin," Delos Santos said in a message. "Currently validating po on the death."

Indama is the Abu Sayyaf leader operating in Basilan, according to the military.

Indama's alleged follower, known as Batok, was killed during a gun battle with government forces in Basilan on Thursday. — RSJ, GMA News
