600 families to evacuate Quezon coast amid threat from Rolly

Around 600 families living by the coast in the largest barangay in Infanta, Quezon will evacuate from their houses due to the threat from Typhoon Rolly.

According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras,” residents of Barangay Dinahican were well aware of the dangers from the typhoon's storm surge.

Evelyn Campo, a resident, had finished packing her family's clothes despite the still pleasant weather.

Meanwhile, Bruno Velasco was putting away his merchandise.

Pangatlong bagyo na, laging sira,” Velasco said.

The residents have learned to evacuate immediately due to their experience with previous storms.

“Delikadong-delikado po dito. Bsata may bagyong pumasok, ‘yun na po… Wasak talaga po. Wala, lahat ng bahay dito, sira po,” Teddy Emboy, another resident, said.

Besides Barangay Dinahican, authorities were monitoring six other barangays for preemptive evacuations. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
