Camarines Norte still in the dark on when power will be restored

The local government of Camarines Norte has yet to receive any assurance on when the province will again have electricity after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Rolly.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB on Tuesday, Tallado said the provincial government already ordered clearing the damaged electric posts.

“Ang kuryente po ‘yung po ang problema namin. Walang assurance kung kailan po kami magkakaroon sa buong province,” Tallado said.

According to the National Electrification Administration (NEA), the initial cost of damage brought by the onslaught of Rolly to electric cooperatives (ECs) in affected areas has so far reached P30.5 million.

As of Tuesday, NEA said power had yet to be restored in the provinces of Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, and Sorsogon in the Bicol Region.

“Restoration is continuing to the remaining affected households under the coverage area of the Masbate Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MASELCO)," the NEA said.

"The Ticao Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TISELCO) reported power fully restored to the municipalities of Batuan, San Fernando, and San Jacinto; and partially restored to Monreal,” it added

“The Camarines Sur I, II, III and IV Electric Cooperatives (CASURECO I, II, III & IV), Camarines Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CANORECO), Albay Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ALECO/APEC), and Sorsogon I and II Electric Cooperatives (SORECO I & II) have reported unavailability of transmission services,” the NEA said. -Joviland Rita/NB, GMA News
