Calabarzon’s most wanted man nabbed in Cavite after three years in hiding

After three years of hiding from the law, the most wanted man in Calabarzon was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Cavite early Tuesday morning.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras,” 41-year-old Jojit Paredes is accused of killing three people over a land dispute.

“Involved ito sa multiple murders way before 2017 so since then, talagang nagtago na ito. Mailap itong tao na ‘to. Three years mahigit na itong nagtatago,” CIDG Cavite provincial field unit chief Police Major Arles Bruza II said.

Paredes was arrested during a stakeout in Indang.

“Malaking impact kasi ito sa society, lalo na ‘pag ‘yung mga ganitong personality ay very dangerous kasi itong mga ‘to at volatile,” Bruza said.

The suspect refused to comment, citing his right to remain silent.

“Wala na pong kapatawaran ‘yan,” said Fred, a sibling of one of Paredes’s victims. “Buhay ho ang inutang niya e.” — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
