Magat Dam opens 1 spill gate; PAGASA asks LGUs to act accordingly


One spill gate of Magat Dam has been opened as forecast rainfall in the next 24 hours in the sub-basin would be way beyond the average of 14.30 mm, PAGASA's hydrometeorology division announced Saturday morning.

In its Facebook post, PAGASA said the outflow from the spill gate is at 534 cubic meters per second (cumecs).

Areas in the Cagayan Valley region that are likely to be affected by the release of water from the reservoir includes the towns of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguilian, and Gamu.
