Magat Dam still releasing water with 2 gates open

From six gates open on Sunday, Magat Dam is still releasing water now with only two gates on Monday, according to the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Magat River Integrated Irrigation System.

On its Facebook page, NIA-Magat River Integrated Irrigation System said that the two gates have four meters opening, as of 2 p.m.

The water level in Magat Dam was recorded at 190.87 meters. Its normal high water level is at 193 meters.

In a 9 a.m. advisory, state weather bureau PAGASA – Hydrometeorology Division said that four gates were open at seven meters in the dam.

Due to this, PAGASA said areas that would be likely affected were the municipalities of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguilian, and Gamu in Isabela.

“Residents and the local disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are still advised to maintain all the necessary appropriate actions,” PAGASA said. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
