Man accused of raping cousin arrested in Bohol

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Bohol on Friday for allegedly raping his 13-year-old cousin three years ago, the Philippine National Police said.

The suspect was arrested in Purok Sitio Lantay in Barangay Lombog in Guindulman at 12:50 p.m. by combined elements from the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group-Visayas, Guindulman Municipal Police Station (MPS), and Jagna MPS, according to PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas.

Barangay Ronald Morales also witnessed the arrest, the PNP said.

The suspect faces five separate criminal cases for violating Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code for alleged rape.

Judge Samuel Amila Biliran of Regional Trial Court Branch 50 in Loay, Bohol, in the warrant of arrest issued, recommended no bail for the accused. —KG, GMA News
