12 hurt in multi-vehicle collision in Quezon province

At least 12 people were hurt in a seven-vehicle pile up along Quirino Highway in Barangay San Francisco in Tagkawayan, Quezon province.

The incident started with a trailer truck hitting an SUV and this resulted in a domino-effect involving the other vehicles that were lined up along the highway.

There were damages to the vehicles involved with the driver of the trailer truck, identified as Mario Delos Santos, sustaining a foot injury.

The accident resulted to a traffic congestion, which was resolved after the vehicles were cleared.

Delos Santos related that the brakes of his truck and with the heavy cargo he lost control of the vehicle.

An investigation conducted by the Tagkawayan Municipal Police personnel is underway to determine the cause of the accident. -- BAP, GMA News
