Malolos LGU probes fiesta, parade for alleged health violations

The Malolos, Bulacan government will investigate a religious parade that took place along a street in its locality for reportedly breaching COVID-19 protocols.

According to Mark Salazar's report on "24 Oras," a video shows several Barangay Look 1st residents not following social distancing during the parade over the weekend.

Participants in the religious festivity were also not wearing face masks and face shields.

Malolos Mayor Bebong Gatchalian was dismayed over the incident as he ordered the local police to conduct an investigation.

Romy Santiago, Look 1st Barangay Captain, said he did not have any knowledge about the religious fiesta.

Nonetheless, Santiago apologized over the illegal activity, saying that he will face possible sanctions after the investigation. — Consuelo Marquez/BM, GMA News
