Over 1,700 individuals who fled homes amid Taal unrest get aid from Kapuso Foundation

Over 1,700 individuals in Batangas who fled their homes amid the unrest from the Taal Volcano received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, among the beneficiaries is fisherman Eliceo "Buboy" Ondoy whose family personally witnessed the volcano's unrest.

"The volcano suddenly emitted smoke. It was black then white," he said in Filipino, adding that he is thankful for his family's safety.

A total of 1,396 individuals from Agoncillo and 320 from Nasugbu received grocery packs, ready to eat lugaw kits, bottles of water, bread, N95 masks, and face shields.

The St. Theresa's College in Quezon City Alumnae Association, headed by former Health Sec. Dr. Chit Reodica, also donated 1,000 blankets for the victims.

The Kapuso Foundation held the first wave of donation drive in Batangas earlier this month.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuiller, and Pay Maya. Vouchers can also be bought from Shopee and Zalora.
